We are observing full recovery on the character encoding issues for inbound SMS to Twilio numbers from Verizon Handsets. This incident is now resolved.

When sending from Verizon handsets to Twilio, we are seeing character encoding issues resulting in certain symbols, including @ and _ being replaced with alternatives. The issue is not impacting actual message delivery. Our engineers are working with our carrier partners to resolve the issue. We expect to provide another update in an hour or as soon as more information is received.
