Engineers have Identified the issue with delays when sending messages to and from Verizon Network in the US.

We are currently observing latency with Delivery reports only. Actual messages from Twilio subscribers to Verizon end-users are being delivered, but customers may still see some latency with delivery reports. We are following up further with our provider.
