Our engineering team has applied a fix to resolve the issue. In progress rooms may still exhibit the behavior until the room ends. This incident has been resolved.
Update
We have identified the issue that led to a race condition during reconnecting that can cause a Participant to stay in a room until the room is ended or the maximum Participant session length of 4 hours is hit, whichever is first. Our Engineering team continues to work on the fix. We expect to provide another update in 4 hours or as soon as more information becomes available.

We have identified the issue causing Video participants to not be disconnected from a reconnecting application or browser that is affecting the Programmable Video API for a subset of customers. Our Engineering Team is working on the fix. This issue started during a deployment on the morning of September 18th. We expect to provide another update in 2 hours or as soon as more information becomes available.
Update
We are investigating an issue with Programmable Video participants in some rare cases not being disconnected after the application or browser enters a reconnecting state and they do not disconnect until the full 4 hours are complete for a subset of customers. We expect to have an update for you in 1 hour.

Our monitoring systems have detected a potential issue with Programmable Video. Our engineering team has been alerted and is actively investigating. We will update as soon as we have more information.
